The Shrimps hit back from the disappointment of conceding a late goal to the home side as Aaron Wildig scored two minutes into injury time to get a point that they fully deserved.

Adams said: “We dominated the game and we opened them up but needed to get that first goal. We’ve

got tremendous character in the dressing room, we’ve got a lot of talent, and after losing what was a bad goal we were able to get that equaliser and that was everything we deserved.

Morecambe battle back for a point at Scunthorpe United

“If not, we know that Scunthorpe will sit back in a good shape, the same as they did against Port Vale midweek.

“They’ll do that, they’ll waste time and try to frustrate us, but we kept plugging away.

“We were unfortunate not to have won the game. We feel we should probably have had two penalties, we had shots blocked by the goalkeeper, some near misses and we were just unable to get that goal to get the three points.

“I didn’t feel we got the added time in added time and that was disappointing from the officials because we were well on top and were unfortunate not to have scored the winner even after the goal we scored.

“Overall we take the draw that takes us to 19 points and we move on, but like the Stevenage game last week (1-1 draw), I can’t help but think we should have had three.

“I’m delighted that we have gone six games unbeaten but the only disappointment is that we haven’t got even more points.”
