The men in question are Alex Kenyon and Liam McAlinden, both of whom missed Sunday’s FA Cup win at Maldon and Tiptree and will also be unavailable for Saturday’s home game against Stevenage.

They are the third and fourth players forced into that course of action following on from the absences of Harry Davis and Cole Stockton, as well as physio Simon Farnworth, last month.

“Unfortunately we have lost another two players,” Morecambe boss Derek Adams told the club’s website.

Alex Kenyon has gone into a spell of self-isolation

“We’re following government guidelines and EFL protocols.

“Harry Davis and Cole Stockton both returned to the squad early last week after their periods of isolation, so to lose another two players so soon is not ideal but we are operating in difficult times.”
