Morecambe put transfer talk to one side amid promotion battle
Derek Adams says any thoughts of possible ins and outs at the Mazuma Stadium are on hold.
It’s approaching that time of year when speculation up and down the land begins over which players may be handed new deals or who will attract interest from other clubs.
In Morecambe’s case, that is complicated by their status as League Two promotion chasers.
When asked if he’d had any agents in contact – or whether he had two sets of targets based on which division Morecambe would be in next season – Adams had a simple message.
He said: “We aren’t doing anything at this moment in time.
“Everything is closed down until we know if we’re going to be in League One or League Two next season.
“I don’t like to be distracted by anything. The only focus is on the games to go.
“Other people have their business to do, agents want to try and get their players into other clubs, but we have work to do.”
