Victory over Solihull moved them into the FA Cup third round, while three points against Barrow lifted them into 11th place in League Two.

Mike Flynn’s team has only lost twice in 14 games so far and is unbeaten at home in the league with six wins and a draw in seven matches.

“We have one of the best away records in the league but I think Newport have done exceptionally well at home,” Adams said.

“It’s always a difficult venue to go to and we know that we’ll have to be on top form.

“However, we’re aware that we can go away from home and perform well.”

Morecambe will also come up against some familiar faces tomorrow, not least Padraig Amond and Kevin Ellison.

Amond spent two seasons with the Shrimps from 2013-15, while Ellison departed at the end of last season after nine years with the club.

From his own playing days, Adams expects both men to relish tomorrow’s reunion.

“Newport have got players who have played for Morecambe in the past and done very well for the club,” he said.

“I think you always enjoy playing against a team you’ve played for, I did when going back to Aberdeen with Motherwell and vice versa.

“We’ll know a lot about Newport and their strengths and weaknesses. Newport, likewise, will know that about us as well but we’re looking forward to it.”
