The Shrimps moved into the play-off spots with an excellent win at Colchester United on Saturday.

Four victories in the past five games makes them one of the in-form teams in League Two going into the festive period.

He said: “It is fantastic to be in the position we are in going into the Christmas and New Year games.

“To be on 31 points from 18 games is more than we could have ever asked for. It is a fantastic run of form that we are on and we want that to continue.

“You have to give the players the credit. You can see their enthusiasm, their will to win and their ability, and the joy they showed at winning the game on Saturday was terrific.

“You can see the confidence going right through the squad at the moment but we have to keep on going now.

“In the football industry you are working all the time at this time of year and there isn’t much time to rest, so we have three games in quick succession to prepare for and to make sure we are ready for.”

The Shrimps’ rise up the table in recent weeks and their change in fortunes since being bottom of the table 12 months ago has caught the eye of many with Adams feeling people will now be taking notice of his side.

He said: “We have changed things a lot over the past 12 months and are in a good place.

“I am sure people will be looking at us in a different light at the minute and that is a sign of the progress we are making and want to continue to make.”
