The Shrimps are yet to taste defeat ahead of the new League 2 season with the club hoping some senior names will turn out for a Reds XI.

For boss Jim Bentley victory would also be all the sweeter given he is a staunch Evertonian.

He said: “It’d be nice if there were a couple of names because I’m sure it would put a few on the gate.

“But at the end of the day all I’m really concerned about is finishing our pre-season campaign strongly.

“I think it’s been a good one for us. The lads are looking organised and fit and strong.
“They’ve played some really good stuff at times and I think there’s more in the locker ahead of the all important first game at Hartlepool.

“And I know it’s only pre-season but if we can stay unbeaten it would be great.”

Trialist Shaun Miller could feature again after the former Crewe, Sheffield United and Coventry front man played the final half an hour of the 2-2 draw behind closed doors with Blackpool on Tuesday.

New signing Adam Dugdale could also return to the side after missing the last three games with an ankle injury picked up in training.
