The Shrimps welcome Leyton Orient to the Mazuma Stadium (6.30pm), looking to follow up the weekend’s 1-0 victory against Harrogate Town.

That moved them into 10th place in League Two, two points behind an Orient side sitting in the final play-off place after beating leaders Newport County AFC on Saturday.

“They had a great victory at home,” Adams said of their next opponents.

“They are a good side, they have some talented players who have come from the division above and have put themselves in a very good position.”

For their part, the Shrimps go into the game looking to record a fifth consecutive home victory in all competitions.

Saturday’s win over Harrogate means they are six unbeaten at the Mazuma Stadium, having finished last season with only one defeat in 11 at home.

Adams said: “It’s important to have good home form.

“We have done very well away from home but Harrogate was a big win.

“It took us into 10th position and now we’re trying to catch the teams above us.

“Leyton Orient have a good points total so we want to try and catch them.”

With Jordan Slew and Stephen Hendrie suspended, Adams made four changes from the side beaten at Newport a week earlier.

Those who came in all played their part with one of the returning players, Aaron Wildig, scoring the only goal.

It took Morecambe to 25 points from 17 games this season; a tally they required 30 matches to reach during the 2019/20 campaign.

Adams said: “I think it’s a very good return to win seven games at the start of the season and to be in the position we are with the squad we have.

“We have 22 players with two keepers in that and Freddie Price, one of our younger players.

“The players have all contributed to the position we’re in.”
