Morecambe announce Barry Roche as the club's goalkeeping coach
The veteran keeper had initially stepped into the role last November following Derek Adams’ arrival as manager, putting any further playing ambitions to one side.
There had been some speculation as to his future when the club’s retained list announced Roche’s departure as a player without making any reference as to whether he would retain the coaching position.

“There was never any real doubt in my mind that I wanted the job and I’m delighted that everything has been confirmed,” Roche told the club website.
“It is something I have always planned to do. I took my badges while I was playing because I knew the day would come when I would have to retire and now that time has come I can’t wait to get going.
“It’s an exciting time for me. I got a taste last year but it was a bit hard at first because I was still a player in my mind. All that has changed now and I’m looking forward to getting back to it.”

“He proved last season that he has great knowledge of the game and is a good coach who is well respected by everyone he works with and the club’s supporters.”
