Alli has assisted seven of Kane’s 21 goals for Spurs in the Premier League this season, the most provided from one player to another in the division.

Pochettino first used Alli as a deep-lying midfielder following his arrival from MK Dons last summer.

But the 19-year-old has been playing further forward in recent months, where he has thrived behind the in-form Kane.

The duo have spearheaded Tottenham’s title challenge with 28 goals between them so far.

And with striker Wayne Rooney currently sidelined by a knee injury, boss Roy Hodgson may now give the pair a run-out for England, who face Germany on Saturday and Holland next week.

“Obviously it depends if we play together, that’s down to the manager who he picks, but we do have a
great understanding,” Kane said.

“I think people have seen that this season – not just with Dele - Kyle Walker as well set me up on Sunday.

“We have a great bunch of English lads here at Spurs so we just have to see what team is picked and we go from there.”

Alli’s through ball set up Kane to score his second in Tottenham’s 3-0 win over Bournemouth on Sunday and came as the midfielder’s 11th assist in all competitions this season.

“He’s a great player,” Kane said. “As a striker when you make the runs whether it’s from crosses or forward runs, if you’ve got a player who can get on the half turn and play forward quick, that’s perfect.

“That’s what Dele did on Sunday, he turned, saw my run, played it perfectly into my path and I was able to finish it off.

“He’s a great lad, a great player, as everyone has seen this season, and I’m sure he’s enjoying it as we all are.”

`Kane has been wearing a face mask in matches for almost a month as he recovers from a broken nose but the striker believes he can remove it on his return from international duty.

Spurs will hope their top-scorer comes back injury-free as they now face Liverpool, Manchester United and Stoke in their next three matches.
