Callum Robinson's early goal was all the Lilywhites had to show for a dominant first 45 minutes.

They were pegged back almost immediately after the interval by Che Adams' sweet strike, Grayson's men then overcoming a sticky spell before Jordan Hugill grabbed the winner on 78 minutes.

"Second half you give Birmingham credit for coming back into the game," said the PNE boss.

"Ultimately we've won but I was frustrated a little bit at half-time like everyone in the stadium.

"We totally dominated from start to finish, created some really good chances and had some outstanding individual performances.

"We just needed a couple of extra goals because you always know when you don't take those chances that the opposition are going to have a spell in the game.

"Ultimately we've showed a lot of character in the second half to stay in the game and dig in and and we took the chances when they came along."
