The FA have started disciplinary action against Preston North End, Chesterfield and PNE assistant manager Glynn Snodin following their play-off semi-final first leg last week.

Both clubs have been charged with failing to ensure their players conducted themselves in an orderly fashion, that in relation to an incident in the first half of the game at the Proact Stadium.

Referee Mark Haywood took some time to restore calm after PNE midfielder Paul Gallagher was grabbed by the throat by a Spireites player.

Both clubs and Snodin have until 6pm on May 15 to respond to the charges.

North End won the first leg 1-0 thanks to a Jermaine Beckford goal.
