Doncaster Rovers duo head out on loan

DONCASTER ROVERS striker Curtis Main has joined Oldham Athletic on loan, while young forward Billy Whitehouse has linked up with FC Halifax Town for a month.

Main, 23, down the pecking order at Rovers having struggled with fitness, injuries and form this term has joined John Sheridan’s Latics for the rest of 2015-16.

The north-easterner has scored just once in 14 appearances for Rovers this season and despite returning to training at the end of last week following a spell out with injury, he has been allowed to join Oldham.

Meanwhile, Whitehouse has moved to Vanarama Conference National outfit FC Halifax Town on a one month loan deal and will remain at the Shay until March 12 having made four appearances for Doncaster this campaign.

Dany N’Guessan could be the next to head out of the Keepmoat with Darren Ferguson keen to farm him out on loan.

N’Guessan has not featured since Boxing Day and is currently hampered by a toe injury.

Ferguson said: “He’s now had two consultations and two different opinions on what we do with it.

“He’s also had an injection which didn’t work.

“The first indication was that we might have to operate on it, which would have meant he’s out for the season.

The second is now we’re going to give it a bit of rest for a couple of weeks. I don’t think we’ll go down the operation route.

“He’ll not be ready for a couple of weeks but we need to get him back so he can go out on loan somewhere.”
