The Shrimps head south looking to make amends for defeat at the Globe Arena earlier in the season.

“Make no mistake, they are a well-organised side who will be difficult to break down and they have a goal threat,” said Kewell.

“They won 4-2 at Wycombe; if that isn’t an indication of what they are capable of then I don’t know what is.

“We won 1-0 up there earlier in the season but they made it very difficult for us.

“We’re under no illusions how difficult it will be but if the fans stick with us and we play the way we have been at home then we are a match for any team in this division.”

Crawley are 11th in the League Two table, six points behind Swindon Town who currently fill the last play-off place.

Last Saturday’s home game against Wycombe Wanderers was postponed because of a frozen pitch so Kewell was planning to give a number of players some game time in Tuesday’s in the Sussex Senior Cup semi-final against Saltdean United.

“Training was difficult last week as well because of the weather but we’ve had some good sessions since the weekend and a few of the lads will benefit from a run-out on Tuesday,” added Kewell.

Thomas Verheydt is continuing his rehab after injuring his knee in the 3-1 win over Lincoln City three weeks ago but is three or four weeks away from returning to the squad.
