Preston North End have sold centre-half Neill Collins to Leeds United.
Collins spent six weeks on loan at Elland Road last season, playing nine games as Leeds clinched promotion to the Championship from League One.
He has signed a three-year contract with the Yorkshire club, moving for an undisclosed fee.
The 26-year-old joined PNE on loan from Wolves in August last year, before making the move permanent in January, North End paying around £600,000 for his services.
But he quickly fell out of favour following Darren Ferguson’s arrival, his last start in a Preston shirt being February’s 5-3 defeat at Derby County, and he was transfer-listed in May.
Collins has been followed out of the Deepdale exit door by Youl Mawene.
The French defender turned down Preston’s offer of a one-year contract and is now a free agent, with Sheffield Wednesday among the clubs tracking him.
