If the Coasters manage to overcome that hurdle, they will make it to the first round proper, so there is a huge amount at stake when the two clubs meet on October 24 at Kellamergh Park.

The tie pits the sides the two sides who filled the leading places in the National League North last season.

Barrow went up as champions, while the Coasters were runners-up, missing out on promotion in the play-offs.

Fylde reached this stage of the FA Cup with a 9-0 demolition of Coleshill Town on Saturday.

Manager Dave Challinor said of the Barrow draw: “It will be a difficult game, playing a higher-ranked team - but they will be thinking it is a tough draw as well because we beat them twice last season and we know what they are all about.

“We will let Barrow worry about us, rather than the other way round.

“We would like to have got a lower-ranked team, but the important thing is it is a home draw.

“We have an important match in the league to concentrate on before we think about Barrow.”
