Chorley defender Courtney Meppen-Walter has joined fellow National League North side Stockport County.
The former Carlisle player and Manchester City trainee joined the Magpies last season but has followed in fellow Chorley defender Mark Ross’ footsteps by making the switch to County.
County manager James Gannon told the club website: “Because of his CV and profile Courtney has had great interest with at least two league clubs contacting him and strong offers from Chorley and other clubs at National League level.
“Because of his ambition and potential it was the right step for him to leave his previous club and move towards bigger and better things.
“We hope to provide that next step for Courtney and we feel both parties can help each other regain higher level and full-time football in the near future.”
