Fulham’s 19-year-old striker Moussa Dembele, is on Manchester United’s January shopping list.
The France Under-20s star, who joined the club from Paris Saint-Germain in 2012, has cemented his first -team place this season with eight goals in 17 Championship appearances.
United boss Louis van Gaal is understood to prefer a January move for the highly-rated teenager. But he is prepared to wait until the player’s contract expires at the end of this season to secure his services, with Bayern Munich also rumoured to be interested in the front man.
Dembele described speculation linking him to a high-profile move as “funny and flattering” but insisted he is committed to securing promotion to the Premier League with Fulham.
Blackburn have re-signed defender Doneil Henry on loan from West Ham United. The 22-year-old centre-back, who impressed during a short spell on loan at Rovers last season, has put pen to paper on an initial deal that will see him remain at Ewood Park until January 3. Henry said: “It is great to be back here again, it is a great club. The last time I was here I felt really welcomed and felt it was made really easy because of how great the guys were here. I’m just looking to train hard and play my part and give all I have for the team.” Henry made three appearances for Rovers in March after joining on a one-month loan from the Hammers.
Championship leaders Hull City could be without captain Michael Dawson for up to a month with a hamstring injury.
The former Tottenham skipper had to be taken off after just 37 minutes of the 1-1 draw at Bristol City on Saturday.
Dawson has been key during Hull’s 11-match unbeaten run which has taken them to the top of the table.
The 32-year-old’s recovery is expected to take between three and four weeks.
Dawson was already due to miss Friday’s match against Derby through suspension, which will also rule out left-back Andrew Robertson.
Manager Steve Bruce also has injury concerns over midfielder David Meyler, who faces eight weeks out because of a knee injury.
