Matthew Dudley (33) and Samuel Bailey (35) put Town in command, before Adam Gilchrist (48) pulled one back.

Dudley added his second and Kendal’s third two minutes later.

Hannu Tam scored immediately either side of half-time at Radcliffe Borough to send Lancaster on their way to a 3-0 victory to put their promotion bid back on track.

Jordan Connerton (70) added the third.

Clitheroe were 2-1 winners at home to Mossley, who went ahead through Mitchell Bryant (10). But Daniel Brady (12) and Kurt Willoughby (78) got the home side’s goals.

In the National League North, AFC Fylde suffered their first defeat in eight, going down 4-1 at in-form Nuneaton Town, Bohan Dixon getting the Coasters’ consolation.

And in the National League, Southport gained their first win since January 10 and their first under Andy Preece in a hard-fought game against Boreham Wood.

Richard Brodie made his first appearance since resigning for the club.

Ryan Higgins and Declan Weeks both went close in the opening stages while, at the other end Craig King saved well from a Matthew Paine header.

After going close on a couple of occasions, Louis Almond saw his goalbound shot pushed out straight to Liam Nolan who smashed it coolly into the net from 15 yards to take Port off bottom spot.
