Boss Renno honoured by new Brig contract
The Brig boss and his assistant Simon Wiles were rewarded with new three-year contracts after Saturday’s 3-1 final day victory over Ossett Albion at the Sir Tom Finney Stadium.
After taking charge, initially on a temporary basis in December after the resignation of Neil Crowe, Reynolds guided the club to its first piece of silverware in 13 years.

And at a raucous end-of-season presentation evening on Saturday, chairman Frank Doyle announced the news of the management duo’s new deals to players, officials and supporters alike.
“To be honest, it was a honour to sign the new contract,” Reynolds said.
“I could not sign it quickly enough. We were put in temporary charge in December, but I made the board aware of my thoughts.

“It was a bit of a surprise, but it was nice to sign the contract in front of the players and the supporters.”
One of Reynolds first acts after committing his future was to tie-up the futures of two of the club’s rising young stars.
Former Preston North End youth defender Josh Heaton has signed a 12-month contract, while exciting forward Regan Linney, who scored the pivotal second goal against Grantham, has put pen to paper on a two-year deal. Reynolds is also set to open up discussions with the club’s two other contracted players Alistair Waddecar and captain Matt Lawlor this week.

“I have spoken to all of the squad and none have said to me that they want to leave,” Reynolds said.
“The two young lads Regan and Josh have signed and we will be speaking to Ally Waddecar and Matt Lawlor and will be offering them something.
“I am hoping to bring in three or four quality additions for next season, but the lads who played in the final are the ones who have got the shirt for the start of next season.

A couple of other players are expected to leave this week as Reynolds looks to remould his squad in preparation for next season.
