“I was really pleased to get everything done in time to start pre-season training with Preston,” Lindegaard told the Evening Post.
“It was about two clubs and one player coming to an agreement.
“Things were a little bit up in the air during the holidays but it got sorted out.

“I said a few times last season that the biggest strength of this club is the atmosphere in the locker room and the relationship between the locker room and the coaching staff.
“That bond is so strong and it is good to be part of, so coming back was an easy decision.
“We have got the two games coming up which will be good after all the training we’ve been doing.

“Every pre-season is the same wherever you do it, you need to get back in the right shape after the holidays and get your timing right again.
“The goalkeepers do a lot of work in the gym to start off with – that is hard work.
“We are on the rowing machine a lot, which seems easy enough to start with but 10 minutes later leaves you pretty exhausted!

Lindegaard will compete with Chris Maxwell for the gloves this season, backed up by Mat Hudson.
The Denmark international said: “Chris is a nice guy and a good goalkeeper. We will push each other along this season, work hard and compete well.
“It was sad to see Chris Kirkland leave in the summer because I worked well with him.”
