Lancashire Sunday League sides make progress in cups

Four clubs from the Lancashire Sunday Football League have reached the latter stages of two important county cup competitions.

Premier Division Acregate Lane LC are through to the semi-finals of the Lancashire Football Association Sunday Trophy after disposing of top Blackpool side Highfield Social in the quarter-final.

They will meet Crown Paints from the Blackburn Sunday League in the last four.

Two other Premier Division sides, Bamber Bridge United and Ribbleton, face each other in their much postponed quarter-final tie, which is now scheduled to be played at UCLan Sports Arena on Sunday, January 6, 2019, where a large crowd is expected.

Meanwhile, BAE Warton who top the Lancashire Sunday League Youth Division Blue, are through to the semi-finals of the LFA Under-18s Youth Cup, and they will meet AFC Fylde on a date to be decided.

BAE Warton reached the final of this competition last season but were beaten by another Lancashire Sunday League side Winstanley Warriors.
