Hide AdAgnew’s leg-over wicket comment on Test Match Special, made to fellow commentator Brian Johnston in 1991, provoked giggling fits during a live broadcast and saw listener reaction from across the world.
The on-air incident has been voted ‘the greatest sporting commentary ever’ in a BBC poll.
“There will be plenty to talk about so soon after the Ashes,” promised Agnew. “It will be a fun couple of hours with a special question and answer session after the talk.”
“Working for Test Match Special is a very special experience and I recall growing up on the family farm and my father would carry a radio around and listen to Test Match Special all day,” added Agnew.
