Bisht (32) is an accomplished first-class player who has graced the Ranji Trophy circuit for over a decade.

Since his debut in 2006, the wicket-keeper batsman has played 192 matches across the three domestic formats scoring 5,154 runs with eight centuries and 389 dismissals.

The Indian star has been on fire for new provincial side Meghalaya this summer.

He has enjoyed an outstanding start to his summer, particularly in the Vijay Hazare Trophy campaign.

Bisht struck two centuries amongst 502 runs at an average of 71.71 to finish third on the run charts

Garstang chairman Mike Walling stated: “We are delighted to have Punit on board for the 2019 season, he is an experienced cricketer with a proven first class record and is someone we look forward to adding to the club.

“I’m sure his experience will add real benefit to all aspects of the club both on and off the field."
