Twenty-three gymnasts represented Garstang School of Gymnastics at the Lancashire Red Rose Gymnastics Championships, battling it out against 120 of the county’s best performers.
Club coaches Fiona Catterall and Mandy Thompson said they were thrilled with the display at the event, held Longridge Gymnastics Club, after members produced some of the best performances to take home a haul of medals.
Fiona said: “The standard of gymnastics throughout the competition was extremely high. The girls performed confidently and overcame any nerves on the day.
“Congratulations to all our gymnasts who took part in the competition – we are very proud of them all.”
The club took titles in each of the age groups, with Chloe Wojcik (pre-novice, under 8), Ginny Buckley (level 3) and Georgia Finch (modified FIG) all picking up the championship trophy.
The girls also celebrated success in their individual apparatus performances, with Georgia Finch stealing the show in the modified FIG section by taking the gold medal on floor, silver medals on vault, bars and beam, and the overall gold medal and trophy.
Chloe Wojcik secured a gold medal on beam and silver on floor in the pre-novice under eight group, with Abbie Ogden achieving second overall and a gold with her performances on bars and floor plus the bronze for beam.
In the level three category, Ginny Buckley took home the gold on bars which secured her the overall gold medal and trophy, with Teri Williams coming third on floor.
The club enjoyed further success in the pre-novice under nine class, in which Jane Allam took the bronze medal on vault and Gemma Bradshaw bronze on the beam.
Charlotte Folkard was awarded the silver medal on beam in the pre-novice under 10 section.
Eleanor Turner took the bronze medal on vault in the novice under 10s, while in the level four junior event Niamh Bonnett came third overall, first on vault and second on beam, with Trinity Hamilton taking the silver medal on floor.
To round off the success, Kara Dawson won the silver medal on floor in the level four senior section and Olivia Baxendale the silver medal on beam.
