The 26-year-old improved his overall record to 9-0 thanks to a first-round knockout of Ghanaian Ishmael Tetteh at the Victoria Warehouse Hotel, in Manchester.

The bout was just two minutes into the first round when Fitzgerald connected with a sweet left-hand which sent Tetteh sprawling into the ropes.

His next outing is scheduled for April 21 when he is set to appear on the undercard of former world welterweight champion Amir Khan's clash with Phil Lo Greco at the Liverpool Arena.
