The pair meet on the undercard of Carl Frampton and Scott Quigg’s huge unification fight at the Manchester Arena on Saturday night.

Morecambe’s unbeaten English champion Lowe hopes to fire himself into the boxing mainstream with a win over Belfast’s hot prospect in front of a sold out crowd and Sky Sports Box Office audience.

Lowe, 11-0-1 as a professional, said: “There’s a lot more to come from me.

“I’ve only had 12 fights and I’m only 22 years old. This is just the start of the journey.

“Saturday night can’t come quick enough, I’m in the shape of my life.

“He’s powerful and is the bigger lad but I think I’ve got enough skill to beat him comfortably.

“I’m going to knock him out.”

On paper McCullough, 14-2, has fought at a higher level and believes that will make the difference on the night.

The 26-year-old said: “I think it’s going to be a great fight.

“He’s a good boxer but he’s not fought at the same level as me.

“I think I’m going to be too big and strong for him.

“Experience is going to be key.”
