For over a decade the Lancashire Skills and Employment Hub has been bringing together businesses, schools, training providers, universities, and employers to help identify Lancashire’s skills and employment priorities and drive prosperity and growth in the region.
Becoming involved can provide businesses with a better understanding of their workforce and skills needs. Providing impartial advice on key skills and employment initiatives in Lancashire, as well as helping to improve your recruitment processes through accessing a pool of students who offer enthusiasm and fresh perspectives to the business. Free training
Signing up to the Lancashire Skills Pledge opens the door to find out more about Lancashire’s key skills and training initiatives. All this is run by the Lancashire Skills and Employment Hub, an independent strategic team, which works with partners to identify skills gaps and to secure funding to support training initiatives like Skills Bootcamps which offer free, or very low cost, skills courses to employed and unemployed people across the whole of Lancashire.
Sara Gaskell, the Manager of the Lancashire Skills and Employment hub explained: “I It is essential that any training delivered meets business needs and offers Lancashire residents pathways into employment.
Using a robust evidence base and the analysis of current and future employment requirements and by talking regularly to businesses about skills gaps we can ensure skills offered are aligned with local needs.
“We are here to support the residents and businesses of Lancashire offering impartial advice and access to wider partners." she said.

The Lancashire Skills and Employment Hub aims to also support the growth of Apprenticeships across Lancashire by offering businesses impartial advice and guidance and by making introductions to Apprenticeship partners who can support the business further.
