Shotgun stolen during Eccleston burglary sparking urgent police appeal

A registered shotgun was reportedly stolen during a burglary at a home in Eccleston.

The incident occurred at an address in Lydiate Lane (B5250) sometime before 4pm on Friday, February 5.

Officers believe the offender(s) travelled to and from the scene in a black or dark-coloured Seat Leon or Cupra-style vehicle.

The car was allegedly parked on Lydiate Lane while the burglary was in progress.

Detectives are now appealing to anyone who saw anything suspicious in the area, or may know who the offenders are, to come forward.

DC Paul Reid, of Chorley CID, said: "We would now like to hear from anybody who drove down the road between the times stated and has dashcam footage which may have captured the vehicle.

"We would also like to hear from anybody who has any other information about the incident.
