Paramedics treating cyclist after 'serious accident' on busy road in Colne

Motorists are being urged to avoid the North Valley Road area of Colne after a collision involving a van and a cyclist.

Police and paramedics were called to the scene at 2-15pm today (Monday) and the male cyclist is being treated for his injuries.

A police spokesman said the road will be closed and are advising motorists to avoid the area.

A spokesman for Lancashire Constabulary said: "We are currently dealing with a serious accident outside Macadams on North Valley Road. The male cyclist is currently being treated by paramedics for his injuries. The road is closed to traffic so if are travelling that way, please avoid the area."
