Young man threatened with knife, chased and robbed

After a young man was threatened with a knife, chased down the street and robbed, police are appealing for information.

It happened at around 1am on Saturday, August 20, when the victim, a 22-year-old man, was approached by a man at the junction of Fishergate Hill and Hartington Road in Preston.

He threatened the victim with a knife before chasing him down Hartington Road and across Strand Road on to Portway where he managed to steal the victim’s navy rucksack containing a gold and white iPhone 5S in a black case, a brown wallet and a small amount of cash.

Police say the robber was described as white, aged in his late twenties, 5ft 7in tall with a gaunt face and was wearing dark clothing with his hood up.

DS Jerry Sturgess of Preston CID said: “This robbery has left the victim extremely shaken and we are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed what happened or has any information that could help with our enquiries to contact us.”
