With passers-by guaranteed a free ringside view there were plenty who stopped to cheer on the heroes and boo the villains.

Preston City Wrestling was staging the event as part of its fifth birthday celebrations.

Steve Fludder, from the group, said: “I’m a local lad and what better way of showing people what Preston City Wrestling is all about than bringing live wrestling to the Flag Market.

“It’s great family fun.

People might have seen it on the TV but here they could come down and get really close to the action.

“And we’ve got some WWE stars of the future involved.

“Our star man Noam Dar was on WWE TV on Friday night.

“On Saturday he was live on Preston Flag Market.”
