Working like a dog

WORKPLACES across Lancashire got a bit hairier and more slobbery today.Spaniels, pugs, labradors and poodles put in a shift in offices and shops across the county alongside their owners as part of national Bring Your Dog To Work Day.The annual event is aimed at raising money for charities dedicated to making a difference to the welfare of dogs. Our readers have been sending in pictures of their pooches hard at it.Emma Caffrey's dog Tegan accompanied her at her gardening business all day, and Bridget Alice's poodle got into the spirit of things with a pair of specs. But it was business as usual for Eric, the salon dog at The Park Hair Room in Chorley, who attends every day.As well as raising charity cash, many scientific studies have concluded that the presence of pets can substantially reduce a person's stress level in the workplace. Increased job satisfaction, team co-operation and morale have all been reported in employees that spend the workday with their pets.Tweet us your pictures from Bring Your Dog To Work Day @leponline
