Woman who died with '˜unexplained injuries' named by police

Police investigating the death of a Wigan woman have named her as 30-year-old Lyndsey Vaux.

Officers were called to Wigan Infirmary on Sunday morning after Ms Vaux had been admitted in suspected cardiac arrest and later died.

A Home Office post-mortem found she had suffered a number of unexplained injuries, but the cause of death has not yet been established.

A 31-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of section 47 assault and has been bailed until July 10.

Det Insp Martin Reddington said: “Our thoughts are with Lyndsey’s family and friends at what is an incredibly sad time for them.

“We are investigating and trying to get a full understanding of what happened to Lyndsey leading up to her death. I would urge anyone who may have information about how she came by her injuries to get in touch with police.”

Numerous tributes have been paid on social media to Ms Vaux.

Gillian Duncan said: “It is absolutely heartbreaking. All our love and condolences go out to friends and family at this difficult time. I am truly shocked by this news.”

Lisa James said: “She was such a lovely lady and very liked in Platt Bridge. She always talked to everyone.”

Kristen Alynn Robinson said: “Still in shock. We saw her last week, just can’t believe she’s gone.”
