A woman was taken to hospital following a fire at a property in Samlesbury this morning.
Crews from Preston and Bamber Bridge fire stations attended the incident on Whalley Road after receiving the emergency call shortly before 10.55am.
Firefighters were at the scene for around two hours.
A spokesperson for Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service said: “It was quite a significant fire. It was a farmhouse-type building.
“There was a lady in the house. I think she was panicking because she had some dogs in there and she was worried abut them.
“I believe she was treated as a precaution by paramedics at the scene.”
Firefighters used breathing apparatus to access the building, hose reels to put out the fire and two ventilation fans to clear the property of smoke.
The woman was taken to hospital but it is not thought her condition is serious.
The cause of the fire and estimate of the damage caused is not yet known.
The spokesperson added; “There will be an investigation at some stage.”
