Woman released as murder ruled out after Preston death

Police have ruled out murder following an investigation into the death of a 26-year-old man found with a stab wound in Preston.

Police and ambulance crews were called to a home on Geoffrey Street in Deepdale on Thursday.

The man, who suffered a stab wound to his abdomen, was taken to Royal Preston Hospital but was later pronounced dead.

Lancashire police said today: “The investigation launched on the 3rd of August into the death of a 26-year-old man, found with a stab wound to his abdomen on Geoffrey Street, Preston, has now concluded.

​“​We are no longer treating his death as suspicious.

​“​The 22-year-old woman originally arrested on suspicion of murder and subsequently bailed, has now been released without charge.

“A file will be passed to Her Majesty’s Coroner in due course.”
