Woman cut free after two-car smash

A woman passenger had to be cut free by firefighters following a two-car crash in Lancaster.

Two fire engines from Lancaster station were called to the incident in Prospect Street on Saturday morning.

It involved a Ford Mondeo and a Dacia Sandero and firefighters were on the scene for about 40 minutes freeing the woman passenger from the Sandero.

Watch manager Kevin Warwick said: “The lady was complaining of shoulder and back pain and we freed her by removing one of the doors using hydraulic equipment.

“She was then taken to hospital by ambulance to be checked over.
