Wizard day had by all for Harry
The school decided to mark the anniversary by staging a full-blown Hogwarts-themed event to mark World Book Day.
Staff and students dressed up as characters from the books and a whole range of different events were staged throughout the day.

Hide AdThese included a giant Potter trivia quiz, Niffler treasure hunt, and a cake decorating competition.
Meanwhile, platforms appeared in the atrium, owls flew around the assembly hall and perched on library shelves while the library contained newspapers which headlined a report about a recent ‘Escape from Azkaban’.
The day was topped off with a visit from Matt Killeen author of Orphan Monster Spy, a debut novel set in 1939, tipped to be a best seller.
The story focuses on Sarah, a blonde-haired, blue-eyed Jewish girl of 15 who, once given a new identity, is sent on a resistance mission to a school for the daughters of senior Nazis.

Hide AdEveryone paid to swap their uniforms for Hogwarts attire and all proceeds from the day will go to JK Rowling’s charity, LUMOS, which aids children in care throughout the world.
Year Eight pupil Karishma Parekh said: “To see the transformation of the school into Hogwarts was unreal .
“For me, the best part was seeing all of the teachers dress up as characters from the books.”
