Witness appeal after bus driver attacked

Police are appealing for witnesses after a bus driver was assaulted by another road user while driving a bus in Heysham near Lancaster.

The incident happened while the driver was driving the number five bus from Overton to Euston Road at 8:35am on Monday January 27.

The bus driver was stationary in the bus stop of Delamere Avenue/Peel Avenue when he was approached by a male who had been driving a small hatchback black car from the direction of HeathFoot and came around the roundabout on the wrong side.

The male approached the bus driver’s window and punched the driver to the face causing cuts and bruises to his eyebrow, eyes and nose.

The offender was a white male in his early to mid 30s, 5ft 8ins with a round face and long, dark brown greasy hair with a side parting. Call police on 101 quoting Crime Number BB1400280 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
