1 What appealed to you most about the property?

The size and location were the main attraction but the whole property was and is really attractive to us and the potential is huge.

2 How long have you lived in the property?

We moved here in January 2001 so that our three boys had lots of room to play, so we have been here almost 12 years. It really will be a wrench to leave but needs must I am afraid.

3 What have you done to the house since moving into the property?

We have developed the garden area which was really just a grassy patch when we came.

Velux windows were fitted in the roof to add extra light to the upstairs rooms.

The roofline and gutters have recently been replaced with plastic for easier maintenance.

Soundproof rooms were constructed in the garage area, intentionally for a sound recording studio for our son but he moved away before it ever got used, so they are two extra rooms which could be used for many purposes, e.g workshop, store rooms, offices, etc.

Painting and decorating inside and out to maintain the condition of the property.

4 Why are you selling?

I have now reached retirement age and need to downsize to relieve ourselves of a mortgage to enable me to give up working and retire. And we wish to move nearer Leyland where we are Scout Leaders and church members. Family is also in Leyland and the cost of regular travel is an issue.

5 What is your favourite room and why?

The garden is my favourite place especially when the weather is good and we have friends round for a barbecue.

If I were to choose a room in the house it would probably be the lounge as it I know when I am in there I can put my feet up and relax. It is especially good in the winter when we have a log fire and a glass of wine.

6 What will you miss most about moving?

We will certainly miss the wild birds and animals that frequent our garden and the peace and quiet of country life.

7 How close are the amenities?

The school, village hall and bus stop are just round the corner. Shops are a short drive away. Preston city centre is five miles. Kirkham and Garstang are also a short drive away. Within easy reach of M6/M55/M61/M65.

8 To whom would this property be best suited?

Any family who like country living or a business person working from home.
