They were just young teenagers when they first met at a park in Bamber Bridge.

Years later and having lost contact, Nicci McLoughlin decided to add Tom Austin on her Facebook, a move which sealed their fate.

They met and were just good friends for a while before their relationship developed into something more romantic and they began dating on Valentine’s Day, celebrating with a bottle of Prosecco.

They became engaged when Tom dressed their baby boy in a vest with the words ‘mummy will you marry daddy?’ on the front.

Tom had a ring all ready and when she ‘yes’ they celebrated that evening at their favourite restaurant.

Exactly two years later, on March 15, they tied the knot at Eaves Hall.

Nicci, a retail assistant said: “My dad and I walked down the aisle to the piano version of Christina Perri, A Thousand Years to meet my soon to be husband.

It was a true family occasion and after saying their vows , Tom and Nicci spent time with their guests and Tom also met his sister for the first time in 18 years.

“Family came from all over the country to spend our special day with us.

“We had our pictures taken and our photographers were so down to earth and made us feel comfortable the whole time.

“They also helped Tom to relax as he is very nervous when having his photograph taken.”

The couple and their guests enjoyed a delicious wedding breakfast before the speeches and the cake cutting ceremony.

The night kicked off with Tom dancing with his mum to Rod Stewart’s Have I Told You Lately before the father and daughter dance to You’ll Never Walk Alone.

The happy couple danced to Ed Sheeran and Beyonce’s Perfect Duet.

Nicci added: “The night was sung out by a very drunk group rendition of Wonderwall and I’ve Had the Time of My Life.”
