A warmer spell on a cloud-free spring morning made all the difference in Preston as the city enjoyed a day well-earned day in the sun.

But will it last?
Looking further ahead, the Met Office outlook for later in the week said: "Largely dry and cloudy on Wednesday, although bright spells are likely at times.
A few light showers are possible over the hills. Maximum temperature 12 C. Thursday and Friday will remain generally dry with light breezes and a mixture of cloud and sunny spells.
"Turning cooler through the weekend with a spell of rain possible Saturday."
