The Met Office has issued a yellow alert for rain in Lancashire, warning of potential threat to life from fast-flowing and deep floodwater.

Weather experts at the Met Office are predicting heavy rain leading to a chance of some flooding and travel disruption.

The warning, which is in place from 6pm tonight until 12pm Tuesday afternoon, extends across the county and includes; Lancaster, Preston, Burnley, Clitheroe and Blackburn.

The Met Office has also issued an amber alert for rain in mid-Wales warning of potential threat to life from fast-flowing and deep floodwater.

Heavy rain is expected between 6pm on Monday and 10am on Tuesday and homes and businesses in the region are likely to be flooded.

The Met Office has also warned some communities could be cut off by floods while power cuts and public transport cancellations are also likely.
