WANTED: Police hunt women after elderly woman is theft victim in Chorley Morrisons

Two women are being sought by police after an elderly woman was the victim of a distraction theft in a Chorley supermarket.

Officers want to speak with the women pictured in connection with the theft at Morrisons Supermarket, Brooke Street.

It is alleged that a woman approached the elderly victim whilst she was shopping and engaged her in casual conversation.

Meanwhile, a second female has then unzipped the victim’s handbag and removed her purse containing money and cards, according to the police.

A force spokesman said: “We are keen to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the incident, or anyone with information that could help them identify the two women pictured.”

The incident was reported to have taken place at around 3.20pm on Tuesday, June 7.
