Exciting plans are in place for a one-of-a-kind superstore to open in Preston.
St Catherine’s Hospice will open the doors to its new one-stop shop in Preston’s Guild Trading Estate on February 1.
It comes after the charity’s shop and warehouse in Walker Street, Preston city centre, closed on December 23 for the final time.
Rachel Hewitt, head of trading at the Lostock Hall hospice, said: “We are very excited to be branching out into a new area with the opening of our first superstore.
“The concept of the shop is to bring a few different things together under one roof, offering furniture, electricals, household items, bric-a-brac and some cut-price clothing.”
The new base will also become headquarters for the hospice’s growing eBay shop, which sells quirky and collectible items online around the country and the rest of the world.
The furniture collection and delivery service, which had operated from Walker Street for heavy or bulky items, will continue from the new shop.
The charity is now recruiting volunteers to work at the new venture, the first of its kind for St Catherine’s.
Rachel added: “Launching a project like this is only possible thanks to those who give their time so generously to volunteer - we’d love to hear from anyone who would like to join the superstore team and be part of this exciting new venture from the start.
“In particular, we’re keen to hear from those who are eBay savvy and could really help us take our online sales to the next level.”
