UPDATED: Man in ‘serious’ condition after Freckleton crash

A man was today still in a “serious” condition in hospital after coming off his motorbike in a three-vehicle crash in Freckleton.

The 34-year-old was airlifted to Royal Preston Hospital following the incident on Hillock Lane on Wednesday.

Police closed parts of Hillock Lane and Kirkham Road following the collision, which involved a motorbike and two cars.

An investigation is underway into the crash, which left the motorcyclist with “multiple injuries”, police said.

Officers were called to the incident on, which involved a white and blue Suzuki motorbike and a black Mitsubishi Shogun Diamond, at around 2.15pm.

Police have not yet released details of the third vehicle.

The roads were closed for around five hours while accident investigation work was carried out.

Police said the motorcyclist was taken by air ambulance to Royal Preston Hospital with “serious injuries”. Officers were working to inform his family on Wednesday night.

A Lancashire Police spokesman said: “We got a call at 2.15pm about a collision involving a motorcycle and a car on Hillock Lane.

“The motorcyclist is in hospital with serious injuries and the incident is still under investigation.

“The man suffered multiple injuries from leaving his bike.”
