A CCTV appeal has been launched to trace a man after a taxi driver was struck on the head with a bottle by a passenger.

The driver was transporting a group of passengers in the car when the assault took place on Elijah Street in Preston around 10.30pm on Monday, October 3, 2016.

Investigating officer PC 4192 Nick Miller said: "This was a cowardly attack on a lone taxi driver going about his business.

Officers are urging anybody who has any information about the assault or who is able to identify the man to contact them on 101 quoting crime reference SA1613175.
