A cyclist is in a “serious but stable” condition after she was involved in a collision with a bus.
The 71-year-old woman was left with serious injuries after the collision in Grimsargh at 12.40pm on Wednesday.
The incident happened when the woman was cycling along Longridge Road in the direction of Longridge.
As she crossed the road near to the pedestrian crossing, she was involved in a collision with a double decker bus which was also travelling towards Longridge.
Police said the cyclist suffered serious injuries to her neck and chest and was taken by ambulance to Royal Preston Hospital where she remains in a serious but stable condition.
The road was closed for two hours for an investigation to take place.
Sgt David Hurst of the Road Policing Unit said: “An investigation is already underway to establish how this collision occurred and I would appeal to anyone who witnessed what happened and has not yet spoken to us to get in touch.”
