Hide AdA spokesman for Doncaster Council said: “People across Doncaster have already been busy painting bikes bright yellow to celebrate the imminent arrival of the Tour, while decorating bikes is proving really popular in local schools.
“The council has already given community groups and schools a number of bikes, collected from places including recycling centres, while Doncaster Wheelers Cycling Club has helped out too. Now, with the growing demand for bikes, we are asking for your help.
“If you have an unused, unwanted or old bike taking up space in your garage or rusting away in your garden, please let us know by emailing [email protected] and we can even arrange collection.”
