New coronavirus death at Royal Lancaster Infirmary is 72-year-old man
University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay Trust have announced three further deaths from COVID-19 across its sites
The announcement brings the total number of coronavirus deaths at the Royal Lancaster to three, after the trust announced on March 27 that a 90-year-old man and an 89-year-old woman had passed away.
Aaron Cummins, Chief Executive for University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust said: "We can confirm that, sadly, a further three patients have died who tested positive for COVID-19 whilst being treated at our hospitals.
“They were a man aged 72 being treated at the Royal Lancaster Infirmary, an 83-year old man being treated at Furness General Hospital, and a 92-year-old woman who died at FGH.
They all had underlying health conditions and died in the past two days.
"Our thoughts and condolences remain with the patients’ families and loved ones, and we would ask that their privacy is respected at this difficult time."
