A Preston student is celebrating after making it to the finals of Miss Galaxy England.
Martha Ruberte a third year usic Practice student from UCLan made it to the prestigious finals of the international competition after she sent in her modelling photographs to the competition’s judges.
Martha, who moved to Preston from Latvia, two years ago said: “I am very excited to be a part of such an amazing event as Miss Galaxy England.
“I sent the information about myself and my photos to the judges several months ago and never thought that i can get to grand final.
“I have participated in Miss Internet Latvia a few years ago but this is my first pageant in the UK.
The 21-year-old says, after singing, modelling is her favourite thing to do.
Martha said: “It is less than month left to grand final, so I am little bit nervous, but I am also extremely excited to be a part of Miss Galaxy England and I can’t wait to meet everybody.”
The winner of Miss Galaxy England will travel to the USA with contestants from all over the world, to compete in the Miss Galaxy International final, which is being held this summer.
Martha said: “The international final is a once in a lifetime opportunity and will be a truly amazing experience and in the past the UK finalists have enjoyed some amazing success at the Galaxy International Pageant.”
And it isn’t just about the beauty on show at the finals that are being held across the country as all of the Galaxy Girls will also be raising money for the Christie cancer charity during their reign as regional title holders.
The final is being held next month at the Park Hall Hotel, at Charnock Richard.
